KOVA Core

Picking a KOVA Core model by feel

The easiest way into the Core range is to decide how firm you want the surface, then narrow by height and cooling. Core runs from very firm to genuinely plush, and the models are built differently enough that one visit usually settles it.

• Firmest: the Atlas 14-inch hybrid pairs a 900-coil pocketed unit with 5-zone ergonomic reinforcement and an Ice-Tech quilted cover. It is the Core model we show back and stomach sleepers first, alongside our wider range of firm mattresses for stomach sleepers.
• Firm with a lower profile: the Ridge 11-inch hybrid uses a heavy-duty coil unit of up to 960 coils with reinforced edges under a cotton knit cover, which suits standard-height frames and platform beds.
• Balanced medium: the Cove 13-inch euro-top adds copper-infused memory foam over the same reinforced coil system, and the Ice-Tex 12-inch hybrid puts a cooling Ice-Tex knit cover over more than 960 coils for shoppers who sleep warm.
• Softest: the Solis 15-inch plush euro-top and the Aurora ET 13-inch euro-top hybrid, with its Ice Knit cooling cover, give at the shoulder and hip, which is why they sit near the top of our list of mattresses for side sleepers.

The simplest beds in the range

Not every bed needs a coil unit. The KOVA Basic is a 7-inch mattress with a firm, high-density foam core, made for spare rooms, bunk beds and short-term use, and it comes in Twin, Full, Queen and King. The Milan is an 11-inch firm innerspring with a euro-top profile and a gray cotton cover, a dependable choice for a guest room or a first apartment. Both regularly show up among our mattresses under $1,000, along with several of the Core hybrids.

Core or Lux?

If you like the idea of KOVA but want gel or graphite cooling foams, wool-quilted tops or an all-foam option in four feels, take a look at the KOVA Lux collection. A good test is to lie on one Core and one Lux model with the same firmness, back to back, and decide whether the upgrade is worth it to you. Several Core models, including the Ridge, Cove, Ice-Tex, Aurora ET and Milan, are also offered in California King and Split King, which matters if you are pairing the mattress with an adjustable base.
