A trundle mattress has to be thin enough to disappear and still be worth sleeping on, and that is the balance the Bear Trundle strikes. Its 5-inch low profile is made to tuck under a Twin trundle bed or sit in a daybed frame, and inside it pairs cooling gel memory foam with high-density support foam so it holds up rather than bottoming out. Bear describes the feel as comfortably balanced. For guest rooms, children's rooms and sleepover duty it does the job properly instead of being an afterthought.
Bear calls it comfortably balanced, and in a 5-inch mattress that means supportive with a gentle contour rather than plush. The gel memory foam softens the surface enough for side sleeping while the high-density base stops it collapsing, which is the usual failing of thin mattresses. We wanted to test out Helix mattresses after the reviews I read online, and this store is the only one that keeps them out on the floor on the west side of Houston. Saad did a great job of helping my husband and I narrow our choices down. He was very patient and answered all our questions on the differences and the manufacturing process.
